Headquarters Deal Caps Latest Cumberland/Galleria Office Activity
An Atlanta-based container maker is moving its headquarters to the former Cobb County offices of a beverage giant.
Consolidated Container Co. inked a two-floor lease at 2500 Windy Ridge Parkway. The 330K SF office building, in the Cumberland/Galleria submarket, is the former home of Coca-Cola Enterprises.
Consolidated Container is moving from the nearby 3101 Tower Creek Parkway building, Transcend founder Patrick Braswell said. Transcend represented the company in the move.
Loews Corp. purchased Consolidated Container, which manufactures rigid plastic containers, last year from Bain Capital for $1.2B, and merged it into Loews Packaging Group. The 50K SF lease at 2500 Windy Ridge will be the firm's headquarters space.
Coke left the building when it consolidated into its Downtown headquarters last year.
This is the latest office deal in the Cumberland/Galleria submarket, even as the area faces a slow start to 2018. According to JLL, landlords in the submarket saw companies give up 135K SF more than was leased during the first quarter.
Accesso Partners secured a marquee tenant for its Platinum Tower office building in the area last year. Aveanna Healthcare inked a 61K SF deal for the top three floors of the 17-story tower overlooking Interstate 285, a deal that also gives the home healthcare provider the ability to hang its moniker on the facade, Accesso officials said.
