Healthcare Provider Taking Marquee Space At Platinum Tower
A newly formed healthcare company focused on children is inking its moniker atop a Cumberland/Galleria skyscraper in a deal that will bring new jobs to the submarket.
Aveanna Healthcare leased 60K SF at Platinum Tower, securing the top three floors for its new headquarters and consolidating from around the metro area. Thomas Davies, a spokesman for the company, confirmed the relocation plan to Bisnow, but he did not offer details on the move. While he was not specific with the number, Davies said Aveanna would be adding jobs at its headquarters as well.
Aveanna also will be getting signage on the 313K SF tower that more than 250,000 vehicles pass a day along a busy Interstate 285.
The deal comes on the heels of a merger between Dallas-based Epic Health Services and Atlanta-based PSA Healthcare that created Aveanna in March. The two companies were pediatric home healthcare operators, which provide at-home nursing for families with medically challenged children. The merger makes Aveanna the largest provider of pediatric home healthcare in the nation, the company claims, with has 180 locations in 23 states and 26,000 caregivers assisting more than 40,000 people.
PMRG Eastern Division President Bill Weghorst and Vice President Zach Wooten brokered the deal for the landlord, Accesso Partners. JLL Managing Director Tim McCarthy represented Aveanna.
For Accesso, the lease finally replaces the corporate monogram atop Platinum Tower since First Option Mortgage moved out last year. The landlord had since been marketing the space to potential tenants with the lure of placing their logo on the building, a compelling lure given the traffic density on the highway and that it is close to the new SunTrust Park stadium project.
