Parkside's Trackside Grabs Second Big Tenant
One of MARTA's station redevelopment projects is getting the injection of another office tenant.
Golder, an environmental and geotechnical consulting firm, inked a 23K SF lease for Trackside, the transit-oriented, mixed-use project at the Chamblee MARTA station. It is the second tenant named for the project. Pattillo Industrial Real Estate also is moving its headquarters into the project.
Cushman & Wakefield Executive Directors Sam Hollis and Ken Ashley brokered the deal.
Golder has been in the Chamblee market since the early 1980s, Hollis said, but executives at the firm felt the need to locate in newer space to be able to attract younger professionals. Golder employs more than 100 people in Atlanta and has 6,500 employees worldwide.
“For them ... this is about trying to stay in the general same geography of where they were, but meet the transit needs and amenity needs” of their employees, Hollis said.
Trackside is being developed by Atlanta-based Parkside Partners, and is part of a string of MARTA station redevelopments overseen by the mass transit agency, including plans for mixed-use developments attached to the Avondale, Edgewood/Candler Park and Arts Center stations. The project includes 80K SF of office and another 13K SF of retail.
