Law Firm Close To Deal To Anchor Selig Enterprises' Major Midtown Mixed-Use Project
One of Atlanta's largest law firms is expected to anchor Selig Enterprises' 3.5-acre mixed-use behemoth in Midtown.
Smith, Gambrell & Russell is expected to lease 100K SF at the $470M 1105 West Peachtree project, anchoring the developer's 553K SF office tower, sources familiar with the deal tell Bisnow.
The deal will likely give Selig the ability to secure a construction loan and break ground on the city-block-spanning project, which will also include a 178-room Epicurean Midtown Atlanta hotel, a Marriott Autograph Collection brand that will be the first of its kind in Atlanta. Officials with Selig and Smith, Gambrell did not return calls seeking comment.
The firm is the 12th-largest in Atlanta, with more than 100 attorneys with practice areas in aviation, real estate and intellectual property, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The firm hit the market earlier this year in a search for space to relocate from its office at Midtown's Promenade tower, the ABC reports.
It is among many firms scouting for big blocks of space in the Midtown submarket, including Capital One, which is eyeing a new facility for its IT and technology services.
