WeWork Secures Location At 725 Ponce, 2 Other Atlanta Sites
Coworking giant WeWork is doing a trio of new deals in Metro Atlanta, including a new location at 725 Ponce.
WeWork leased 45K SF at the redevelopment of the Kroger shopping center on Ponce de Leon Avenue in Midtown. The deal has WeWork occupying two floors of the 370K SF office tower that will rise above the Kroger store across from Ponce City Market and directly on the Atlanta BeltLine.
It is the second major deal announced for the project, being developed by New City. Earlier this year, McKinsey & Co. announced that it planned to lease 65K SF at the project. Past reports indicate that New City is in talks with Starbucks and BlackRock about possible leases.
Beyond 725 Ponce, WeWork also leased 35K SF in Downtown Decatur at 120 West Trinity Place, a mixed-use project underway by Cousins Properties, and 70K SF at 1155 Perimeter Center West in Sandy Springs. WeWork has been one of the fastest-growing coworking players in Metro Atlanta, and now tallies more than 800K SF throughout the region.
