Big Box Giant Eyes ATL
Electronics and home furnishings giant Conn's is taking a chance on Atlanta as part of its big Southeast expansion. (We're excited to have this conversation: "What are the pros and cons of going to Conn's? Conn's staff are pros. That's a pro. So, we're off to Conn's.)
The Houston-based big box retailer is touring the Southeast market for sites, including retail nodes in the Atlanta MSA such as Buckhead, Conyers, and Douglasville, sources tell us. CBRE's Kirk Buttle (seen here interviewing On the Border's Devin Keil) has been tapped for the Atlanta search, but could not be reached for comment.
While best known for electronics, Conn's also sells appliances and furniture at discount pricing. (Fun fact: Any appliance can be furniture if you sit on it.) It's hunting for second-gen space, anywhere from 40k SF to 45k SF, such as the store pictured here, sources say. Most recently, Conn's entered Tennessee. Officials with Conn's did not return calls seeking comment.
