GBT Targets East Cobb Parcel for Redevelopment
New owners of a “main and main” parcel in East Cobb are planning on chucking Chuck E. Cheese out the door to make way for a retail redevelopment. Brentwood-based GBT Realty Corp recently picked up a 1.7-acre site at Roswell Road and East Cobb Drive near Johnson Ferry Road where a 10k SF Chuck E. Cheese is located. But GBT's Jeff Pape tells us with all the established retailers and shopping centers nearby, the parcel is better served for a retailer anxious to tap the affluent East Cobb shopper. “We are reviewing proposals from interested retail users that include demolition and rebuild strategies and also re-tenant opportunities,” Jeff says.
GBT picked up the site from Nebraska-based Empress Theatres for $1.65M. Jeff says key attractions to the site are that it has 44,000 vehicles a day pass by it, and has signaled access to both Johnson Ferry and Roswell roads—East Cobb's primary retail corridor.
