San Antonio Food Bank To Open New Branch In New Braunfels
The San Antonio Food Bank will break ground next week on a new branch at 1620 S Seguin Ave in New Braunfels. The new facility is a response to the growing demand in Comal and Guadalupe counties, where the organization expects to serve more than 65,000 people per year, according to the San Antonio Business Journal.
Once complete, the New Braunfels Food Bank will include a community kitchen and community garden, and will feature gardening classes, emergency food boxes, utility assistance, workforce development training, financial literacy education and cooking classes.
The San Antonio Food Bank has operated a food pantry in New Braunfels, known as The Kitchen Table, for four years. That program will continue when the new facility opens. [SABJ]
