State Buys Historic Property Across from Alamo
The General Land Office is buying three historic buildings across from the Alamo, and the purchase could close by the end of the year. The Woolworth, Crocket and Palace buildings are all in prime locations at 518 East Houston St, 319 Alamo Plaza and 321 Alamo Plaza. A spokeswoman for the GLO, Brittany Eck, says the acquisition does not change the current lease provisions with Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, the Guinness World Records Museum, Del Sol, and Grand Trolley, but the purchase will factor into a long-term master plan for the area.
