Final Tally Shows ACL Generated $277M, Up 24%
Austin City Limits generated more than $277M for the central Texas economy last year, according to local number crunchers at Angelou Economics, which conducted the study on behalf of the festival organizers, C3 Presents. The 2016 total is a 24% increase over 2015 and a 52% increase over 2013, the first year the event was two weekends long.
With more than 75,000 people per day at Zilker Park, ACL has become the city's largest annual event, according to the Austin Business Journal. Despite the numbers, South by Southwest is still the top earner with an estimated $325M in economic impact.
