Pearl Developer's Next Big Project
Silver Ventures, the developer of Pearl, is planning to build a 10-story office and retail center along the lower Broadway corridor, across 288 from its batch of successful developments. The project would take up nearly the entire block at the northwest corner of Broadway and Pearl Parkway. Silver Ventures spokesperson Elizabeth Fauerso told the San Antonio Express-News that the developer decided not to include multifamily in the design due to high office demand and the proximity of new apartments.
The move is another big step towards densification in the area. At 10 stories, the office building would tower over other buildings on lower Broadway, making it on par with Cellars at Pearl, which is set to have 10 stories as well.
The site is the home of Stay Golden Social House bar, a parking lot and two vacant buildings. Should the zoning commission approve the request to rezone the 3.1-acre property, it will go before the Historic and Design Review Board on Dec. 2. [SAEN]
