ShipStation Signs Lease On Lamar Central's Remaining Space
The e-commerce company ShipStation has leased 22k SF of Class-A office space at Lamar Central, filling in the only remaining vacancy in the coveted building. Lamar Central, owned by Highland Resources, was recently named the best new office development in Central Texas.
“It’s an incredibly exciting time at ShipStation, to say the least,” said ShipStation CEO Nathan Jones. “We’re experiencing tremendous growth; the move to Lamar Central allows us to accommodate more staff, expand our product offerings and better serve current and new users.”
Tenant improvements include a new design with a soft industrial feel, incorporating private offices, group workspaces and a large gathering area. ShipStation was originally founded in Austin in 2011 and was acquired by Stamps.com in 2014. The company helps e-commerce retailers ship orders from popular marketplaces and was in need of a larger space after doubling its team this year. The move from its previous location on Exposition Boulevard is still in process.
“We’re thrilled to have a tenant of ShipStation’s caliber at Lamar Central,” Highland Resources acquisitions and operations manager Jeff Simmons said in a statement. “It’s also an exciting milestone for our team, as it secures the last of the non-retail space we have available for lease.” While the office portion of Lamar Central is now 100% leased, there is still a 16k SF chunk of retail space available on the ground floor.
