Future of Downtown Baltimore

Heidi Daniel joined the Enoch Pratt Free Library as President and CEO in July of 2017. Ms. Daniel is focused on leading the Pratt into the future by breaking down barriers of access for the people of Baltimore and the state of Maryland. In 2018, she led the Pratt to becoming one of the first fine-free public library systems on the East Coast. She managed the $115 million renovation and reopening of the historic Central Library. Under her leadership, the Pratt was named one of the “Nicest Places in America” by Good Morning America and Reader’s Digest. Ms. Daniel served as Executive Director of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County in Ohio prior to moving to Maryland. In 2015, she was named Ohio Librarian of the Year. Ms. Daniel worked in both the Houston Public Library and the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma City earlier in her career.

As the President and Managing Partner of Pinkard Properties, Ms. Pinkard oversees the daily operations of the certified woman-owned firm, including leading the team for Asset and Property Management. Over the past several years, she has grown the firm from a start-up to a robust book of management, brokerage, development, and consulting clients. From local developers such as Caves Valley Partners, to large public companies such as Element Fleet Management, Ms. Pinkard has leveraged the firm’s talented and experienced staff to create lasting partnerships with major players in the Maryland real estate market. A strong proponent of giving back to the local community, she has also developed a niche providing brokerage, management, and consulting services to a host of nonprofit clients as well. Ms. Pinkard has efficiently managed significant capital planning and upgrades to large urban and suburban office and retail properties across the company’s footprint. An active member of CREW, BOMA, and NAIOP, she has developed extensive relationships within the industry to ensure that all clients receive top-of-the-line service using the latest information, technology, and strategies. Prior to founding Pinkard Properties, she worked at PNC Bank Wealth Management in asset management for high net worth and ultra high net worth investment management private clients, foundations, and institutions with accounts ranging from $1 million to $250 million. She worked to ensure accurate and timely service and reporting to all clients, while developing lasting relationships as a trusted advisor. While at PNC, Ms. Pinkard graduated from the American Bankers Associated National and Graduate Level Trust Schools. Ms. Pinkard holds an MBA from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and a BA from Georgetown University. She is a licensed real estate salesperson in Maryland. Ms. Pinkard was named one of Baltimore's Leading Women by The Daily Record, named to the Daily Record’s VIP List: Successful Before 40, and won the Spirited Woman Rising at the Spirited Women of Baltimore Awards. Ms. Pinkard is currently the Chairwoman of the Homewood Museum Advisory Board and serves as Vice Chair of the board of the American Red Cross Greater Chesapeake Region.

As President of Operations for Berman Enterprises, Casey is responsible for all of the operations in the company's real estate portfolio, HR decisions, leasing plan and maintaining tenant relationships. As Managing Director or Camber Creek, Casey manages deal flow, due diligence, investment, management decisions, strategic assistance in start-up companies where Berman Enterprises’ real estate experience, expertise and assets offer significant value add.

Bryce Turner is the President of BCT Architects and a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He has directed the design of projects in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Bryce is passionate about mixed-use and commercial real estate developments that promote socialization and reinforce community; and, understanding the lifestyle trends that impact these places. He and his associates have led the design of significant projects such as National Harbor and Fairfax Corner in Washington, DC and Akmerkez and Istinye Park in Istanbul, Turkey. BCT originally designed Belvedere Market and has renovated Belvedere and Cross Street Markets; and, is currently busy with Lexington Market and One East Pratt in Baltimore City. Turner and his team are currently busy designing multi-family residential developments that include a mix of uses and often senior residents. An advocate for smart and sustainable growth, Bryce sits on the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) National Redevelopment and Reuse Council and ULI Washington’s and ULI Baltimore’s District Council Advisory Boards. He has served on the Maryland Sustainable Growth Commission since 2011, and was appointed by both Governor Hogan and Governor O’Malley. Turner served as a Vice President of DDG until 1994 before joining BCT, and in 2016, led the acquisition of DDG, merging it and its talented team with BCT. While BCT focuses on the U.S. market and especially the East Coast, the DDG studio specializes in retail-driven mixed-use projects in Europe, Asia, and emerging markets. Bryce is a graduate of Virginia Tech's College of Architecture and Urban Studies and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Tom Kelley is the Director of Design + Development for COPT Commercial Development + Construction. He is responsible for overall company design leadership and strategic management of design coordination through the pre-development and construction of all commercial development and capital expenditure investments. Tom has over 22 years of design experience, most notably in the studios of innovative firms such as Cannon Design, CallisonRTKL, and DDG. While at these firms he collectively led and managed over $5B in award-winning mixed-use projects worldwide. Prior to joining COPT, Tom worked with Marriott International’s design and construction group, where he focused on full service branded hotel designs such as Marriott, JW Marriott, and Renaissance Hotels. Tom’s current COPT commercial development responsibilities include 18 development pipeline projects totaling over 3.5M SF.

Dan joined Goodier to run its commercial business unit. Dan has been working in commercial real estate in Atlanta since his graduation from Vanderbilt University in 2005. He began his career with Jones Lang LaSalle serving as a financial analyst and junior broker in their Tenant Representation and Agency Leasing groups. While at Jones Lang LaSalle, Dan helped to service the real estate needs of clients such as Sprint, Microsoft, and Blue Cross Blue Shield throughout the Southeastern United States and parts of Latin America. Most recently, Dan was a member of the acquisitions staff at Wells Real Estate Funds. At Wells, Dan was part of a two person team that sourced, analyzed, and executed over $825 million of real estate acquisitions in the northeastern United States during his four year tenure. Dan is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designee, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Georgia. He is actively involved in the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP, and the CCIM Institute. Dan has a Master of Science in Real Estate Development degree from Columbia University and is currently pursuing his Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Dan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with degrees in Economics and Spanish.
