Bisnow Exclusive: Hunt Valley Inn to Fly a New Flag
Bisnow has learned that the famous Hunt Valley Inn will sell soon and the boutique property, once a Marriott, will again fly a flag. (Don't underestimate the power of a flag. This entire country was founded on sticking them in the ground.) Our source tells us FelCor's announcement this week of an eight-property management deal with Wyndham holds clues to the hotel's future.
Eight of FelCor's Holiday Inns (Boston, Houston, New Orleans, Philly, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Santa Monica, and Charleston) are transitioning to Wyndham flags, expanding the operator's US market share by about 2,500 rooms. And we hear the Wyndham flag soon will also fly over the 392-key Hunt Valley Inn. Owner HEI bought the property for $31M in '04 from Boykin Lodging Co and Davidson Hotel Co, which bought it from Prudential for $12.3M in '95.
