Last week, the White House honored Seawall Development as aChampion of Change as part of the Obama administration?s "Make It in America" agenda. The award was for Miller's Court (above) in Charles Village, financed with $9.4M in New Markets Tax Credits from Enterprise Community Investment. It has 40 apartments (10 of them affordable) for teachers, 34k SF of office for non-profits that support teachers, and 1,000 SF of retail. It's a brownfieldreclamation of the H. F. Miller and Sons tin box factory, which has been vacant since the early '90s. The Enterprise Community Loan Fund recently gave another loan for Seawall to do a similar project inPhilly. |
