COLLEGE LIFE
Roger Winston, Lila Shapiro-Cyr, and Ray Truitt
Ballard Spahr Baltimore real estate partner Ray Truitt (right, with colleagues Roger Winston and Lila Shapiro-Cyr) has been named to Loyola University Maryland's new board of advisors for the College of Arts and Sciences, an initiative of dean-since-2010 Rev.James Miracky. Ray says the dean is re-examining the undergrad living and learning experience (it was mostly a commuter college when Ray graduated in '79). While proud of all things his alma mater does, Ray—self-described as a marginal athlete in high school— wants folks to know there's more to the school than lacrosse and a slot on March Madness brackets.
Harbor East Johns Hopkins Carey Business School
There's more to Ray than Loyola. He's been involved with The Johns Hopkins University Edward St. John real estate program advisory board. He was one of the original faculty members 20 years ago, teaching Legal Issues in the Master's in Real Estate program for nine years (now housed in Harbor East's Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, above) before passing the baton to other Ballard Spahr partners. And when one of his colleagues vacated an advisory board position there, he took that spot. What does Ray's book of business tell us about Baltimore CRE? It's all still eds, meds, and feds, he says. Which still rhymes.
