NEXT STEPS AT THE SLOTS

The Marlyand Video Lottery Facility Location Commission is meeting today to bang the gavel on its acceptance of Caesars Entertainment's proposal to run a Baltimore City video slots casino. It's the only application for the license—or rather the only one that came with the required initial license fee. The commission will consider the location, economic development, and financial impact while the lottery checks out the principals' backgrounds and financials. The Department of Legislative Services' Rachel Hise tells us the next step is scheduling a site visit and a public hearing. VLFLC chair Donald Fry has said he expects to announce the license award in early 2012. |
