ON THE VERGE OF GREAT THINGS
June 5, 2012
As retailers expand, their landlords find themselves with freed-up capital for renovations and new construction (and maybe to buy their property managers a little something nice on the way home). That means exciting groundbreakings in the Baltimore region. |
Cushman & Wakefield's Dave Dochter (right, with colleague Matt Alexander) tells us Village South at Waugh Chapel and Boulevard at Box Hill are under construction. Towson Commons' retail will be repositioned (C&W is handling leasing), and White Marsh Mall will be spruced up (including the return of Boscov's). And Greenberg Gibbons' redevelopments of Owings Mills' Solo Cup site and Laurel Towne Centre will break ground soon. Baltimore City, likewise, is seeing more ambitious retail planning in Harbor East and along Pratt. Dave says soft goods, which the city hasn't seen outside GGP's Gallery, are gaining traction. |
