SHINY, HAPPY PEOPLE
September 18, 2012
NAIOP Maryland's Tom Ballentine (flanked by James F. Knott Realty Group prez and NAIOP Maryland president-elect James Knott Jr and and Creative Access principal's Vonda Peterson at NAIOP Maryland's recent legislative and regulatory seminar at the Sheraton Columbia Town Center Hotel) tells us his organization and others are working on how new growth can happen under the EPA's mandate for Maryland to reduce and cap stormwater pollutants (something to watch for those breaking ground in '13 or '14). Vonda says the office market is coming back slowly, while doggy day cares and salons are hot (her company is working on two now). She's also got a lot of building facelifts as older buildings try to compete with new ones, especially MOBs. She tells us she's got a 35-foot cabin cruiser, and yes, gentlemen, she does captain it herself. |
