SUPER FAIL
November 22, 2011
The supercommittee's failure to reach a deficit deal might not do much for Congressional approval ratings, but Reis research guruVictor Calanog (above at a Bisnow NY event) tells us it could boost investment in CRE. "It adds to the overall atmosphere ofuncertainty, and to many investors, real estate looks like a relatively safe bet," he says. Volatility in the stock market and a rocky road for sovereign bonds mean yield-producing investments are dwindling, and the assumption is that quality real estate in strong markets will at least generate income. "Even if fundamentals are tepid, expect to see investment inflows to hold steady over the next year," he says. |
