Courtyard by Marriott brand manager Janis Milham (in the Kansas City South Courtyard) tells us her customers are business travelers, so the best place to reach them is the airport. To introduce potential guests to the flag?s GoBoard touch-screen concierge (news, stocks, weather, restaurants, and local events) and new lobby design, the brand has taken to the terminals. It's installed smaller-scale lobby replicas complete with bar/cafes and charging stations in the Charlotte and Philly airports through the end of this month. Next up: Baltimore, Houston, and Phoenix through November.

Courtyard has also taken the Monster Board touchscreen technology straight to the airports with larger-than-life pinball games based on the lobby in the Seattle, San Francisco, Atlanta, Denver, and Miami airports. (Where do you put the quarters?) High scores for each week go on Courtyard?s Facebook page, and 2,000 have posted pictures of themselves with their own scores (motivated by a sweepstakes, of course). More than 42,000 have tried it out, and almost 20,000 have played all three turns to finish their games. That's a 48% rate, which obliterates a typical successful marketing campaign engagement rate of 10%.
