Construction Begins On Rotunda Anchor CineBistro
Construction has begun on seven-screen luxury movie theater CineBistro, an anchor tenant in the $120M redevelopment of the Rotunda apartment and shopping complex in North Baltimore. Work has also begun on half a dozen other shops at the Hekemian & Co project, which will include Baltimore’s second Blaze Pizza.
“After so many years of planning and three years of construction, it’s wonderful to see the final product emerging,” Hekemian SVP Chris Bell says.
The Birmingham, AL-based dinner-and-a-movie concept from Cobb Theaters will open its 35k SF Baltimore location in the fall, Chris says. CineBistro currently operates 10 locations in seven states and allows movie-goers to order food and drinks from their reserved seats.
Several other shops will soon join MOM’s Organic Market, which debuted to much fanfare April 1. PetValu and Floyd’s 99 Barbershop will open within the next 30 days while Starbucks and Bella Beach salon will open in June. Chris says he expects work to begin soon on Moby Dick House of Kabob, CorePower Yoga and Fitness Evolution.
The fastest-growing US pizza chain, Blaze Pizza, will open its second Baltimore City location at The Rotunda. The LeBron James-backed business also has locations in Laurel, College Park and Bethesda.
On the apartment side, leasing has begun at the Icon Residences at the Rotunda. About one-third of the 379 luxury studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments are completed and the remaining will wrap up in July, Chris says. An outdoor pool and lounge, a fitness center and a clubroom are among the amenities. Rents start at $1,365.
