Joe Squared Moving This Month, Eyes County Expansion

Popular pizza joint Joe Squared will seat nearly twice as many diners when it moves to its new Station North location by the end of the month. And owner Joe Edwardsen says he’ll consider additional locations.

The new 150-seat restaurant at 33 W North Ave will span two floors, hosting music and other performances in the basement most nights, Joe says. The restaurant shut its old spot at 133 W North Ave Aug. 24 after 10 years in the location because the building required too many repairs, Joe says.

The move cost $300k, financed by a GoFundMe campaign, which raised $40k, and two bank loans. Once the pizza joint is settled in its new home in Station North, Joe says he’ll look at Takoma Park and either Catonsville or Ellicott City. Joe Squared also has a location in downtown’s Power Plant Live. Its thin-crust, coal-fired pizza has won many national accolades, from Travel & Leisure and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The menu, which also includes risotto, salads and sandwiches, will remain the same.
