More on Saint Agnes’ Catonsville Facility
Following up on last week’s story on Saint Agnes Hospital’s new healthcare center at 40 West Plaza, opening in March under the patient-centered medical home model, we spoke with the hospital’s VP of operations and capital projects, William Greskovich. He tells us the project is part of the Maryland Health Commission’s three-year PCMH pilot program. The goals are to replace episodic care with coordinated, long‐term care and help patients self-manage their health rather than medical staff becoming active only after disease has set in. PS: That lowers costs.
He tells us Saint Agnes is an early PCMH adopter, providing such care since 2011. The difference is that it will soon house this type of care under one big roof, offering patients easier access to it. The move consolidates 18k SF of medical offices into one 38k SF building but puts “wrap-around services” like a lab that serves everything from OB/GYN to cardiovascular together. William tells us the hospital system will see how this one goes to determine if more under-one-roof PCMHs are on the horizon.
