Marriott's Delta Hotels Taking Over Hunt Valley Inn Flag
Marriott International has chosen the Baltimore area as the launch pad for its Delta Hotels brand. It opened its second hotel in the new brand nationwide in Baltimore's Inner Harbor last month (after Orlando) and will open the third hotel in Hunt Valley.
Baltimore County’s Hunt Valley Inn will take on the Delta flag sometime between mid-March and mid-April, hotel general manager Martin Svigir said. Under the Wyndham flag since 2013, the new name of the 392-room hotel will be Delta by Marriott Hotel Hunt Valley Baltimore. The company will announce the exact date of the brand change later this month.
The name change won't impact the overall look of the property, which completed a $15M renovation April 2015, Svigir said.
“The property standards between the brands is similar,” Svigir said. The hotel contains 45k SF of meeting space, the Cinnamon Tree restaurant and Polo Lounge and Bar. Nightly room rates will remain between $119 and $169.

The 150-room Delta Hotels by Marriott Baltimore Inner Harbor offers 4k SF of meeting rooms, general manager Angela Wedemeyer said. An Edgar Allen Poe theme runs through the hotel, with Raven beer on draft, meeting rooms named after the author’s works, and the TellTale restaurant and bar. A coffee shop serves locally roasted Zeke’s coffee and grab-and-go items.

Owned by The Charles Redwood Group, the hotel encompasses three historic former office and warehouse buildings. The brand is targeting frequent business travelers with features like free WiFi and bottled water, a business center and ubiquitous charge ports. Room rates run between $139 and $239.
Marriott International acquired Canada’s Delta Hotels and Resorts brand for $134M in 2015.
