Manekin on the Street: Downtown's Nine New Neighborhood Names
What do commercial real estate execs think of Downtown Partnership of Baltimore’s nine new neighborhood names to redefine Downtown: Mount Vernon, Preston Gardens, Cathedral Hall, Seton Hill, University of Maryland Center, Bromo, Charles Center, City Hall, and Inner Harbor? Chesapeake Real Estate Group’s Dick Manekin says it’s a positive move: Baltimore really is a city of neighborhoods, and Downtown, CBD, and Center City just didn’t cut it.
Colliers' Bob Manekin likes the idea but says we can do better than "Bromo." He also points out that it's already in use to a certain extent, with Charles Center, Inner Harbor, Mount Vernon, and UMB, the latter which didn't make the Partnership's cut. What's your take? Will you use the neighborhoods when referring to your buildings? What would you change? Email amanda.metcalf@bisnow.com.
