How Much Retail Can Odenton Handle?
Odenton Town Center is still a suburb, but activity at Fort Meade and development plans have made the submarket a buzzy 'hood. M&T Bank’s James Gorman and Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp’s Mary Burkholder were among the panelists Monday at Village at Odenton Station at an event sponsored by Dolben, Klein Enterprises, AAEDC, Baltimore Coffee & Tea, and West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce. They discussed Valbridge Property Advisors’ recent study, which reports that retail in Odenton Town Center will serve mostly the local population, though it’s an affluent one (spending 35% above the national average on consumer goods and services) that can support 600k SF of additional retail (including 50k of restaurants) by 2017.
