BISWIRE/Oct. 16, 2024 – Uprite Construction is proud to announce the successful groundbreaking for the Advantech North American Headquarters in Tustin, California. The ceremony, attended by prominent local leaders and business partners, marks the commencement of the first project within the South Orange County Community College District’s (SOCCCD) Technology Park, a transformative development at the historic former Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Tustin.

Jonathan Bagnall led the proceedings, and we were honored to be joined by Ween Niu, General Manager of Advantech North America/Canada, City of Tustin Mayor Pro Tem Ryan Gallagher, SOCCCD Board President Timothy Jemal, and Chancellor Dr. Julianna Barnes, alongside approximately 100 attendees who gathered to celebrate this monumental project.

Sitting on a 10-acre site, the project consists of a 110,000-square-foot, six-story office tower and a 79,000-square-foot, two-story industrial tilt-up building, which will house the Advantech American Service Center (AASC). The facility will support Advantech’s mission of driving technological innovation and service excellence across North America.

The Uprite Construction Southwest Office was there in full force, alongside our design partners, Herdman Architecture + Design, Inc., Zatu Design Build Architects, HSA & Associates, Inc., and Grimm & Chen Structural Engineering, Inc., and many of our trusted trade partners, who will be working on this monumental project over the next 24 months.

“We are excited to partner with Advantech and the City of Tustin on this landmark project,” said Jonathan Bagnall, President at Uprite Construction. “The Advantech North American Headquarters is more than just a building—it represents the growth and future of Tustin’s role in technology and innovation, and we are honored to play a part in this transformation.”

Located within the SOCCCD Technology Park, the new Advantech Headquarters is part of a larger redevelopment initiative transforming the former MCAS Tustin, originally commissioned in 1942 as a Navy lighter-than-air (LTA) base. The site has since evolved into a key area for technology and innovation, with Advantech’s headquarters being a cornerstone project.

This project is a significant milestone for Advantech, the City of Tustin, and SOCCCD. It is expected to generate 350-400 new jobs for the local community, with plans for future expansion already in place.

The Advantech North American Headquarters is set to serve as a major hub for technological advancement, further solidifying the City of Tustin’s role as a growing center for innovation and commerce.

“As the first project in the SOCCCD Technology Park, this development is a key step in transforming this historic site into a cutting-edge hub for technology,” said Timothy Jemal, SOCCCD Board President. “We look forward to the positive impact it will have on the local community, economy, and workforce.”

The Advantech North American Headquarters project underscores Uprite Construction’s continued commitment to delivering excellence in commercial and industrial construction while fostering long-lasting partnerships with visionary clients and communities.
