Arrowstreet Designs for Life Science
July 26, 2012
Arrowstreet president Jim Batchelor, who'll moderatetomorrow's event, says his architecture firm is creating designs for new and renovated life science buildings for BioMed and MIT. Many life science companies that will use these spaces are on the edge between office, high-tech research and lab use, with more focus on computer analytics than on traditional labs. Also, clients are asking for ample common space that will encourage collaboration, from conference rooms to micro-cafes and outdoor oases. Another new feature: more bike space than even progressive Cambridge requires. He says landlords are encouraging youthful exuberance for people of all ages. (Over-70 D & D leagues, anyone?) |
