| Two years ago, Mike says, it was a good time for AvalonBay to tie up new development opportunities. (It used a square knot.) In Boston, it started to focus more intently on urban sites. Two weeks ago, it broke ground on the $100M Avalon Exeter at the Pru and started permitting for 45 Stuart St, a 29-story tower in the Theater District.
