Berkeley Investment Unveils Food for Seaport
In two weeks, we're having an event about the rush of development around the Seaport: labs, offices, hotels, and retail. So we asked Berkeley Investment CEO Young Park about the restaurant scene that he's enriching with four new venues.
Sunday, welearned that a new seafood restaurant/bar-- Island Creek Oysters Row 34, which boasts an outdoor terrace-- will land atBerkeleys 381 Congress St this fall. The 6,000 SF eatery will alsofeature nearly 20-foot ceilings and some garage door-size windowsthat will open onto Boston Wharf Road (in case any lobsters want to drive themselves into the kitchen).Young's excited: an outdoor space in a historic building; contemporary features; near the water... what more could a good Bostonian want? Upstairs will be 44 rental apartments aiming for the mid-market niche andranging from 600-800 SF, slated for occupancy in the fall.
Next week, gourmet grocer Bee's Knees is set to open at 12 Farnsworth St, another Berkeley Investments property. A few weeks ago, Tavern Road opened at 343 Congress St. And in the spring,Pastoral will swing the doors wide, alsoat 343 Congress St, to serve gourmetNeapolitan pizza and other goodies.
