CBA’s BIG NIGHT
CBA president Kristin Blount, longtime Colliers International broker, with colleagues Chris Decembrele and Tucker Hansen
We were on vacay last week but didn't want you to miss out on theCommercial Brokers Association?s annual awards dinner Thursday, honoring brokers, landlords, and big deals at the Intercontinental on the Greenway. We snapped CBA president and longtime Colliers International broker Kristin Blount with colleagues Chris Decembrele and Tucker Hansen. She let the audience know that CBA raised $20k last year for Caritas Communities, the non-profit that develops housing for low-income folks, mostly working people. That brings CBA's total gifts to Caritas to $145k. As for the 'atta boys (and girls), every year themembers choose some of their own to recognize for leadershipand outstanding deals. The winners are …
FHO?s John J. Boyle III - FHO-er, Ryan Romano, scored as Rookie of the Year.
Broker of the Year (and a toast) went to FHO?s John J Boyle III, who has completed transactions valued at $4.5B. Last fall, John was also honored by CoreNet New England as Global Service Provider of the Year. Besides deals, he sits on the boards of theWalker School and Bay Cove Shelter. Another FHO-er, Ryan Romano, scored as Rookie of the Year.
Rob Griffin (center), and Ed Maher for the $930M Hancock Tower sale they closed with C&W?s leasing team of Bill Anderson, Gil Dailey and Dave Martel
There was only one thing that could beat Hancock Tower for Investment Sale of the Year, so thankfully The King's Speechwasn't nominated. The prize, of course, went to Cushman & Wakefield's Capital markets team led by Rob Griffin (center), andEd Maher for the $930M Hancock Tower sale they closed with C&W?s leasing team of Bill Anderson, Gil Dailey, and Dave Martel. Not only was the sale a big win for the brokers and the sellers (Normandy and Five Mile Capital), it helped remind the world?s investors of the high quality of Boston CRE.
We snapped Synergy?s COO Steve Brodsky (look familiar?) with Boston Private Bank?s Howard Turlow and Synergy president David Greaney.
The honor for Landlord of the Year went to Synergy Investment & Development. We snapped Synergy?s COO Steve Brodsky (look familiar?) with Boston Private Bank?s Howard Turlow and Synergy president David Greaney. This relatively young firm was in the good company of past winners Boston Properties and Equity Office. David tells us that Synergy is actively looking for new opportunities. They?d like to find more like 101 Summer St, which they bought last May when it was empty (now it's 95% occupied). The Life Science Award went to the Sanofi-Aventis lease at MIT?s 640 Memorial Dr by CBRE's Adam Brinch and Curtis Cole. TheRetail Award was won by Collier?s Ted Chryssicas and Jon Martin; industrial by C&W and Colliers; suburban office by Jones Lang LaSalle and the downtown lease by McCall & Almy?s Bill McCall and team for the MFS deal.
