| While most residential developers are focusing on rentals, Diamond Sinacori?s Merrill Diamond is now permitting an $18M, 70-unit condo project on Commonwealth Ave in Brighton. We found him at the CJP dinner, too, toasting us with a tall glass of ... well, that must be water, of course. Why condos? Earlier in permitting, Merrill says he promised current residents that he would build ownership units in a neighborhood that's largely rental. Serendipitously, since so many others have now taken the rental route, Merrill says DS will have one of the only condo games in town. Priced in the $350k to $450K range, a rarity for Boston's expensive housing, demand could be substantial. |
