CohnReznick: Twice as Good
October 18, 2012
The recent merger of J.H. Cohn and Reznick Group brings to Reznick’s former Boston office additional skills and new industries to focus on, says CohnReznick’s managing partner here, James Naber. Historically, Reznick had tax and accounting expertise in CRE, affordable housing, not-for-profits and renewable energy. In consulting, it focused on areas such as governance, risk, compliance, management, and business process. The firm delivered services nationally to its offices on both coasts and the Mid-West. Cohn offices were concentrated in western Massachusetts, Connecticut and the NY metro area but covered a broader array of industries, from financial services to manufacturing and hospitality. |
Combining the skills and geographic reach into a 2,000-person firm with $450M in revenues is an opportunity for the Boston office to grow significantly in construction, non-profits, education, manufacturing, and distribution, Jim tells us. It’s also a chance to broaden the skills of the 42 professionals in the office here, including: Meghan Frazer, Lauren Schulz, Erin Walsh, Matt Romines, Rachael Zaffini, Corinna Liu, Tia Ames, and Tami Gambiza. Jim says that the combined company will further bolster Boston in two of its strongest areas—affordable housing and renewable energy. These two sectors are crossing paths more frequently with many new affordable housing projects adopting green strategies. |
