Designing the Seaport
Talk about the live-work advantage: ADD Inc prez Fred Kramer says that since the firm moved to the Seaport District from Cambridge in ?08, it's been designing major projects around the waterfront. (Though they haven't made an office water slide just yet.) Hear more from Fred at Bisnow's State of the Seaport District on March 5 at The Seaport World Trade Center. Register here!

Fred?s 140-person team (based in Boston with a Miami office) has been working on studies for the expansion of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. It designed the 202-unit multifamily building at 319 A St for Gerding Edlen, the Portland Oregon-based developer?s first Boston project that's slated to start construction in Q2. ADD Inc is also working with Houston-based Hanover on its first Boston project, a 383-unit multifamily building on Pier 4. New England Development spent years permitting and gaining control of the parcel, next door to The Fallon Company?s 1.1M SF Vertex HQ, now under construction. In another part of town, ADD Inc designed the 492-bed Mass College of Art residence on Huntington Ave, which is scheduled to open in May.
