HANCOCK'S BIG LEASE

Sold at foreclosure last year, this week the iconic John Hancock Tower came back in a big way with a 208k SF lease to Bain Capital. |
Bain plans to leave 111 Huntington Avenue and move a few blocks to its new quarters in Copley Square by fall 2011. The investment firm signed a 15-year lease with owners Normandy Real Estate Partners and Five Mile Capital Partners with an option to expand to 270k SF prior to occupancy. The new lease brings vacancy at the I.M. Pei designed tower, at 62 stories New England?s tallest, to about 5%. Cushman & Wakefield represented both the landlord and tenant.Gil Dailey, Dave Martel, and Rob Griffin were at the table for Bain, and Bill Anderson represented the landlord. |
