Twenty years of talk about how to run a new downtown park might seem like overkill, unless you're a 400-year-old city. BRA recently issued recommended guidelines for development along the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Part of the Big Dig, the 27 acres of open space has the harbor on one side and the Financial District on the other, probably some of the most valuable real estate in the country. Faced with two high rise proposals—from Raymond Property and Chiofaro—the BRA recommends height limits of 200 feet near the water and 600 feet on the CBD side, explains chief planner Kairos Shen. He says some portions of RP's proposal are consistent, while Chiafaro?s is inconsistent with the guidelines. |
