In real estate, spring usually means a surge in home sales. But keeping with a theme that started in the New Year, spring ?11 is becoming ?new CRE hires and promotions? season. As companies gear up for new development and acquisitions, they're bringing on more talent, Keller Augusta?s Jodi DakinLoughlin tells us. Also, some who were doing asset managementuntil the next cycle are moving back to building and investments, leaving slots to fill. Here are some examples: Skanska USA announced last week that it hired Kevin Darling as development director for its New England operations. He was acquisitions director at Intercontinental and acquisitions manager for Boston Properties. Skanska USA Commercial development was launched in ?08 to focus on sustainable, Class A projects.*** Richard Barnett joined Colliers International as SVP indevelopment and consulting to lead the healthcare and life sciences practice. During his 30 years in those sectors, he's focused on eradicating the spread of infections through the use of architecture, design, and construction. *** |
The Davis Cos hired Stephen Rice as regional director for the Tri-State area based in Norwalk, Conn. He'll manage the office and direct acquisitions, asset management, and leasing for that region?s portfolio. Since ?08, The Davis Cos and Marcus Partners have been reorganizing to bring down the curtain on Davis Marcus Partners. Davis expects Steve to lead expansion efforts in the region. *** |
Marcus Partners' principal David Fiore will take charge of the new office the firm is opening Firday in Wilton, Conn. His team will include John Busby and Marsha Glazebrook. The three have worked together for the past 13 years doing acquisition, development, repositioning, and management of more than 2M SF of CRE in Connecticut and New York. |

With more than 25 years of experience in development and construction, he was director of business development for William A.
