HOME SWEET SOCIAL SECURITY HOME
Bob Peck at 6100 Wabash Ave on Jan. 26, 2012
On Thursday, GSA Public Buildings commissioner Bob Peck was in town for the groundbreaking of the Social Security Administration's new home, a 538k SF pair of buildings in northwest Baltimore at 6100 Wabash Ave that AECOM (architects) and Clark Construction will deliver in 2014 (well, for that and his white light fix now that the neighbors have finally taken down their Christmas decorations). JBG and Klein Enterprises bought the 11 acres across from the Reisterstown Metro Station, from the Maryland Department of Transportation in November and will lease it to the SSA for 20 years. As many as 2,300 employees will work there.

Also on hand were SSA commissioner Mike Astrue, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, and JBG partner Rod Lawrence. The Mayor was happy to hear that Rod and his purple tie are Ravens fans and season ticket holders.
