Honoring Old Boston's Church of the Covenant
The Church of the Covenant in Back Bay--built in1867 (the same year Frank Lloyd Wright was born)--was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on Sunday. Designed by Richard Upton as a Gothic Revival showpiece, it features a 236-foot spire, Roxbury pudding stone, and a sandstone faade. In the 1890s, its interior was festooned with finishes by Tiffany Glass. and today isone of the largest Tiffany-decorated churches still standing in the country.
