Kicking Off REAction 2011
January 18, 2011
We snapped Paradigm Properties' Kevin McCall and Building Impact?s outgoing executive director Lisa Guyon. Kevin and Lisa started Building Impact six years ago to organize community service opportunities for tenants in his firm's office buildings. Then last year, they launched REAction as a vehicle for real estate companies to do community service: deliver school supplies to children, renovate Boys and Girls? Clubs, and clean up the Charles, among other good works. Lisa?s moving on to lead the Cape Cod Housing Assistance Corp. Kevin will continue to be the spirit behind Building Impact. As the head of Paradigm, he says he also expects to see more distress opportunities in CRE this year. |
J Calnan's Jay Calnan holds his construction firm's REAction 2010 Impact Award for going above and beyond to collect crayons, food, help renovate, and contribute $5,000 to sponsor 2011 activities. (What's the ?J? in J Calnan stand for? Seems his real name is John, like Dad, but his mother always calls him ?J.? He complies with her wishes, he says, because ?if Mama ain't happy, no one?s happy.?) Jay himself is happy that his 71-person firm has been busy building out corporate spacefor the likes of Biogen and TJX. ADD Inc?s president Fred Kramer (who's designing the Fish & Richardson office at ONE Marina Park Dr) hosted the REAction kick-off for the second year. |
