Live/Work/Play Plays in 'Burbs
September 20, 2012
Samuels & Associates’ SVP of development Leslie Cohen says the shift to live/play/work isn't just for urban development. The developer expects the first residents to soon move into Phase I of The Moorings at Hingham Shipyard, located in a retail lifestyle center in the heart of town. She'll have lots more to say as a panelist tomorrow at Bisnow’s 3rd Annual Boston State of the Market Summit, Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel. Join us!
Leslie says residents—buyers or renters—want more than shelter. They want a “multi-dimensional” experience: walking distance to work, shops, restaurants, cinema, friends, and family. For Samuels, this model works in its new development in Hingham and has been a success for it in the Fenway. The company has developed 600 rental apartments at Fenway Triangle Trilogy and 1330 Boylston St. Soon, it will break ground on another mixed-use project consisting of 170 apartments, a 150,000 SF office tower, and four floors of retail.
