Last week, The Broad Institute broke ground on its new $375M-plus research facility at 75 Ames St. in Kendall Square. Six of the 12 floors in the new building will be internally linked to the existing Broad research building at 7 Cambridge Center in the life science mecca. Digging for science: Broad Institute Board of Directors chair Diana Chapman Walsh; Boston Properties president Douglas Linde; Elkus Manfredi?s David Manfredi; Eli and Edythe Broad; and Broad Director Eric Lander. Eric says the new facility will provide permanent space for teams to work collaboratively and the flexibility ?essential to our continued success.? Construction on the two-year project officially begins in January. |
