OLD IS NEW
While on the town yesterday, we snapped Fort Point Channel, Boston's newest landmark district. Owned almost entirely by the Boston Wharf Co. until 2004, it's filled with late 19th century brick and timber warehouse and industrial buildings; shipping and transport of goods through the neighborhood fueled the city's economic growth. Now, the same buildings are still buzzing, but much of the activity comes from artists, architects, and other businesses that enjoy its buildings' high ceilings and abundance of windows. All around it, the new Seaport District is being developed: the latest addition, ONE Marina Park Drive, is set to open this spring. Our red arrow conveniently finds the convention center.
