Opportunity at MIT Center for Real Estate
October 27, 2010
We dropped by an open house at MIT?s Center for Real Estate and snapped our hosts, Tony Ciochetti and David Geltner. David, who chairs the one-year Master?s in Real Estate Development program, told us that this is the best time in 10 years to get into real estate. After the trauma of the recession, there is opportunity to create new financial models and new ways of operating. Tony told a group of potential applicants that while an MBA from Sloan is valuable, a graduate degree in real estate is more focused on the real world. After all, buildings touch everyone's lives. Yet, he says CRE students are a bit more idealistic. ?We are changing the world.? |
