Parcel 24 Gets Key BRA Approval
Kirk Sykes, president of Urban Strategy American Fund
One of the first new mixed-income residential projects to be built on The Rose Kennedy Greenway won a critical BRA approvalThursday. Designed to bring a new gateway building with sustainable market-rate affordable ownership and rental units to Chinatown, the 345-unit development (with 42% affordable units) known as Parcel 24 will culminate a 50-year community effort to revitalize the site, says Kirk Sykes, president of Urban Strategy American Fund, a New Boston investment fund. Kirk tells us that this project, which his fund is developing in a JV with the Asian Community Development Corp, aims at having a triple bottom line. He hopes to start construction early next year.
