SKIP, HOP, AND A JUMP
March 3, 2011
Yesterday, Gardiner Realty founder Skip Gardiner (with sonMichael Gardiner and leasing VP Jerry Morgan) told us his company recently consolidated its HQ into southern Maryland?s firstLEED Silver flex building, taking 6,000 SF at his Priest Bridge Business Park in Crofton. The green features resulted in a 5% increase in construction costs on the project, but Skip says he made the decision to show prospective tenants what sustainable space looks like. He also tells us Gardiner has two flex buildings (20k SF each) under construction in Dunkirk, with delivery slated for spring 2011. |
He's also a farmer, so a cow at the office is natural. Priest Bridge started as a little red house on a half acre of land. Skip drove by it one day in 1970 with his wife and thought it would be a good spot for a business park, eventually buying the parcel for $19k. It's since expanded to 100 acres with 1M SF of development potential. |
