October 31, 2011
Republicans and Democrats agree that high-speed rail is coming to the Northeast Corridor. So get ready to join the United States High Speed Rail Association Conference, Nov 6-8, at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City. USHSR VP Thomas Hart (shown with DOT Secretary Ray LaHood at last year?s conference) says this year?s conference will feature discussions with industry leaders about the plans and impact of high speed rail in America, particularly along the east coast. High speed rail is the largest infrastructure project in the world, with $1 trillion under contract in multiple countries with multiple vendors. Plus, $15B has been approved for planning and construction in the US. Secretary Ray LaHood and Congressman John Mica will headline the event to include: transit oriented real estate development, public-private financing partnerships, and East Coast construction and engineering projects.
