Construction doesn't get more complex than Boston Children’s Hospita l’s new $72M inpatient building in the tightly packed Longwood Medical Area, says Walsh Brothers CEO Richard Walsh. As construction manager of the five-year project due for completion in ‘13, Richard says it was critical that the BIM-guided process shifted work off-site to assemble systems and building sections. The 110k SF building is cantilevered over—and squeezed in between— sensitive emergency departments and ICUs. Hopefully, Richard says, with this approach, construction will be quick, safe and non-invasive, “to make more space out of no space.” Hear more at Bisnow’s 3rd Annual Healthcare Summit, Nov. 27, Westin Copley Place.
