The new patient care/research facility will seek LEED Silver. If successful, it will be the first new New England hospital to attain that recognition.*** |
Boston Medical Center officially cut the ribbon on its new 235k SFCarl J. and Ruth Shapiro Ambulatory Care Center on Albany Street earlier this month. Designed by Tsoi/Kobus Architects and RDK engineering, the nine-story building will consolidate many of Boston Medical Center's outpatient services and contains exam rooms, clinical labs, MRI suites, office suites, support space, and a caf . The project also included a two-story, 20k SF expansion of the Menino Pavilion to house general stores, patient observation units, and MRI suites.***St. Vincent Hospital will build a $21M, 40k SF cancer center in CitySquare in Worcester. The new two-story building will have treatment and research facilities for the 1,300 cancer patients the hospital serves annually. *** Kavanagh Advisory Group won a green light from the Boston Redevelopment Authority to build a new $25M, 180k SF building that will include a new home for the Pipefitters Union Local 537. It will be located at 6 Tide St in the Marine Industrial Park. The BRA says the project will create 400 permanent and 500 construction jobs. *** |
The opening of the 13k SF Del Frisco?s Double Edge Steakhouse is filling up the $60M Liberty Wharf, among the city's latest waterfront mixed-use complexes. The three-building, 75k SF complex is on the site of Jimmy?s Harborside original footprint. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, it offers 11.3k SF of deck and balcony areas overlooking the harbor and 500 linear feet of dock space for boats.*** |

We snapped Corcoran Jennison president Marty Jonescloistered in her Dorchester office yesterday as she tied up loose ends at the development firm. She's preparing to start her new job as CEO of the Massachusetts Development Finance Agencynext month. During FY '10, MassDevelopment financed or managed 238 projects that generated investments of $1.4B.***Liz Dalton, Carlos Lopez, and Julia Driesch have joined the staff of Diversified Project Management. Liz and Carlos have started working as project managers. Liz previously worked as a designer and project manager for Cubellis Associates and Packard Design. Carlos has worked for several design firms, theFederal Reserve, and Fidelity Investments. Julia comes fromWentworth University as an assistant project manager. *** Donald Noland has joined Cushman & Wakefield as the director of research for New England. He will deliver market research and analysis to the real estate firm's brokerage, corporate occupier and investor services, capital markets, and valuation and advisory teams. He comes from CoStar where he was VP of comps research. Donald also was an associate broker for CBRE in upstate New York. Assignments Jones & Bartlett Learning, a subsidiary of Ascend Learning, hired Diversified Project Management to build out and manage the relo of its HQ into 55k SF at 5 Wall St in Burlington. It will be leaving space in Maynard and Sudbury. Grubb & Ellis? Steve Cook and Mark Coelho repped Ascend in the lease. Middlesex Bank chose Margulies Perruzzi Architects to work with its in-house designers to configure and design a new branch in Milliston Commons in Millis. The nearly 3,000 SF space will include: four teller stations, three management offices, a kiosk for customer training and video displays throughout to minimize on the use of paper. Colantonio will manage construction, slated for completion this summer. |
